September 26, 2018 - CERAH and Humanitarian health ethics (HHE) organizes a joint event on the topic of ethics and palliative care during international humanitarian action, and more precisely on the power and limitations of small humanitarian acts based on themes emerging from the HHE Research Group's multisite study.

  • Sexual violence against migrants: Time for action - ICRC Humanitarium, Geneva

September 10, 2018 - CERAH and ICRC organized a joint event about sexual violence against men, women and children in the context of growing conflicts around the world. The event gathered experts who  who are working in these crises to advocate for, and support the rights of migrants and refugees who experience sexual violence.

May 21, 2018 - Every year, CERAH is organizing a networking event that get together students and humanitarian professionals. That allows our students to better understand the different organizations' recruiting requirements and how they can transfer their competencies and knowledge, gained through CERAH courses, into the humanitarian employment market.

 

  • Bangladesh and the Rohingya crisis: What solutions ?

March 15, 2018 - CERAH in partnership with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) organized an event within the International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights (FIFDH). The event gathered speakers from the South Cooperation Department (SDC), the Embassy and Permanent Representation of the People's Republic of Bangladesh as well ad from UNHCR, ICRC and CERAH.

  • Health workers' perceptions of organizational expectations following disasters, Conference by prof D. Barnett

January 2017 - Daniel J. Barnett is Associate Professor of Environmental Health & Engineering at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA and  associate at the Center for Refugee and Disaster Response. Research interests include best practice models to enhance all-hazards public health emergency readiness and response. Specific areas of focus include disaster response surge capacity; design and evaluation of preparedness curricula for public health workers; mental health aspects of public health emergency response; public health readiness exercises; and organizational culture change issues facing health departments in building a ready public health workforce.

  • Famine in Somalia

April, 2016 - CERAH and the Graduate Institute' Centre on Conflict Development and Peaceuilding (CCDP)  co-organized a debate around the book launch of Daniel Maxwell "Famine in Somalia". The book was shortly introduced by its author then discussed with a panel form of Renée LARIVIERE, Deputy Director General Development and Learning, Interpeace and Christophe GOLAY, Lecturer, CERAH. The debate was moderated by Prof. Gilles CARBONNIER, The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID).
